Go with a top Vancouver medical spa for Botox®, fillers and volumizers to reduce wrinkles
At our Surrey clinic, when it comes to anything we inject into our patients, we only use the best products and ingredients on the market. Many of our solutions are backed by reputable brands, and approved by Health Canada for cosmetic use. There will be no mystery substance being pumped into you, at the cost of your well-being.
In fact, being allowed to use some of these products are safer to use only after specialized training, which our lead cosmetic doctor (Dr. Shah), is asked to provide to other physicians, or on behalf of other beauticians. The angle of the needle, the potency, the exact location of injection sites, plus other factors, definitely matter in this regard.
We won’t let anyone except a real doctor or nurse work on our Vancouver dermal fillers and cosmetic injectables – and only after they have been trained!
Should you experience any adverse reactions, we’ll be right there with you to help; our injectors are licensed medical professionals, first.
FAQs about our dermal fillers and cosmetic injections in Vancouver (Surrey)
Have questions about Vancouver cosmetic injections performed at our Surrey skincare clinic? We’ve got answers! See below for common FAQs on this topic. If you want to know more, we’d be more than happy to educate! Start by booking a consultation with us. When we meet, we’ll be able to assess your case, and give you more information on possible treatment solutions.
Are your Vancouver cosmetic injections painful?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, so this is hard to say. Also, some injectables we administer come with built-in anaesthetic. This is to help reduce pain.
Before injecting Botox®, hyaluronic acid or other products into you, we can have ice packs ready to help cool the area, which can help with pain as well.
That said, these are needle-based treatments at our Surrey cosmetic clinic. We can’t downplay that fact. So let’s be real: you can expect the same amount of pain you’d experience with say, a blood withdrawal, an IV insertion, or a vaccination.
Typically, most people get through these injections just fine. They don’t produce the type of pain that can’t be handled at all. And, they’re quick – you’ll be in-and-out in 30 minutes or less, most of the time. Certainly, we get patients coming back for repeat treatments, because the results are so worth it for them!
Also, don’t forget that the cosmetic physician performing the injections should be trained in the procedure, so that only the necessary amount of pain is caused. We don’t needlessly inject in random places!
What are the side effects of cosmetic injectables?
In the very general sense, most people only experience a bit of redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection sites after a non-surgical face lift. This usually dissipates within a week or so.
However, every formula we use will have different possible side effects. The substances in Botox®, Xeomin™ and Dysport™ are inherently different than that in say, Juvederm® or Bellafill™. They are completely different products.
We encourage you to check out the pages on our site dedicated to explaining each of our injectable solutions (see the links above).
We’ll also explain possible side effects during your initial consultation with us. We want you to be fully informed!
Are cosmetic injections toxic to the body?
The answer to this question depends on the substance being used. Some ‘fly by night’ providers could be injecting mystery concoctions into people – or worse, known toxins. That may be something you’ve seen on reality T.V. shows or docuseries. And those are scary, yes.
However, there is a ‘grade above’ when it comes to cosmetic injections in Vancouver. A reputable, medically-based clinic like ours would not likely use anything just to get the job done. Safety is our priority.
The products we use are well-known in the medical community. Some are even based on substances found in our bodies naturally. Others have been used for medical treatments outside the cosmetic industry for years and years, but were only recently found to be beneficial for beauty uses.
The botulinum toxin in products like Botox®, Xeomin™ and Dysport™ are not only very diluted, but also modified at the molecular level for their usage. They are not the same as putting actual botulism in you. Their main ingredient is certainly labelled as a toxin, in the scientific sense. However, it is often used medically to treat ailments like migraines, nerve impulses and hyperhidrosis all the time.
In truth, the risk of cosmetic surgery, or even ink from a tattoo, can create more complications for your health than the types of cosmetic injections we use. So, a lot of the fear surrounding this topic may be based on perception, rather than the actual risks people take all the time, without thinking twice about them.
Also, many cosmetic injections are only as good at the person performing the procedure! So, you should always choose your provider wisely, to lower your risk of side effects. At our Surrey cosmetic clinic, only licensed, trained physicians and nurses do these treatments on our patients. And, we’re not far from patients in White Rock, Langley, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Vancouver and many other places in the Lower Mainland – people come to us for our expertise and safety.
All that said, keep in mind that if you have concerns about any injectable solution, we can probably provide you with an alternative treatment path that you are more comfortable with. We have several beauty technologies at our Surrey skincare clinic, to aim for the noticeable results you want.
Are wrinkle reducers and dermal fillers permanent?
Most of the time, no. Many of them require that you come in for repeat treatments, to keep up their results. The time frame between treatment can span between 4 – 6 months, or even every year or so. It depends on the solution, and the person receiving the injection.
That said, some of these products are long-lasting, such as Bellafill®. Hyaluronic acid fillers, like Juvéderm®, are also completely reversible, immediately after a procedure, if you aren’t happy with the results. And still, something like Belkyra™ can permanently dissolve existing fat cells under the chin, but won’t prevent new ones from forming. So, again, they are all different.
If you are looking for permanent, or longer-lasting results, we may have other solutions at our Surrey laser clinic that may be for you. Please do inquire to learn more about how we can help solve the issue you’re having. This starts with an in-person consultation, which you can book online here.
Do you mix your own cosmetic injection solutions at your clinic? What makes yours so special?
Some beauty injectables, are supposed to be mixed with your own blood, to work effectively. And, some branded products are also designed to be diluted, or mixed with anaesthetic in the clinic, per the discretion of the doctor doing the treatment. That’s because the amount each person needs will depend on the specifics of the condition they have. So in that sense, the answer to this is yes – just like any other medical spa of our calibre would say so.
However, we are also able to safely perform other injectable procedures at our clinic – some of which we design ourselves. These can be made with a select mix of branded products, such as Botox® and Juvéderm®, to create a temporary, volume facelift without surgery. This is also called a “non-surgical facelift,” a “softlift” or an “MD Codes” procedure, and it is quite popular. Patients get the benefits of multiple solutions, doing different ‘jobs’ on the face at the same time, for better effect.
And yes, our lead doctor is qualified to create special injection formulas for your needs, or to use certain medical solutions as an off-label treatment option, using ingredients approved by Health Canada for other treatments. These approved ingredients are known to the medical community, and used often by doctors, but not necessarily for cosmetic purposes. Or, they are simply not branded with a trademarked label for cosmetic use (which can take time and money for a pharmaceutical company to do). Nonetheless, it is a very common practice. In these cases, we will always let you know what to expect, and answer any questions you have about what we’re using.
