We offer personalized, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy in Surrey, outside Vancouver. Also known as the “vampire facial,” PRP therapy is a promising treatment for skin rejuvenation, dark eye circles, hair loss and more. It’s a treatment method that has been used since the 1980s.
PRP therapy works by stimulating growth factors to induce healing. Our process uses a pure, physical separation of platelets from blood cells. There are no additions to the injection fluid used before or after centrifugation. Some would call this an ‘organic’ approach to PRP.

We use a professional blood retrieval and separation system to harvest autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own body. This allows for quick procedure times with sufficient doses of platelets needed for effective treatments.

How does PRP therapy work?
The term “platelet-rich plasma” refers to a breakdown of your blood, which has been ‘configured’ to contain more platelets in its plasma. Platelets contain regenerative and healing properties.
When blood is spun at high speeds in a centrifuge, platelets separate from red and white blood cells. Blood without red or white blood cells is basically plasma and platelets, which looks like a yellow, semi-transparent liquid.
Hence, we get the term, “platelet-rich plasma.”
With PRP therapy, a high concentration of platelets are inserted back into your body. The liquid signals your body to produce growth factors through cytokines. This serves many purposes. For example:
- Growth factors can boost collagen and hyaluronic acid production. Both of these are known ‘factors of youth’ in our skin.
- Growth factors can stimulate keratinocytes, which are a component of hair. Thus, they can help re-start hair growth.
In short, PRP therapy gives your body a ‘boost’ of healing properties in areas that need it.

How many PRP treatments will I need to see results?
PRP therapy for skin regeneration and hair growth must be repeated to maintain its effects.
Generally, patients require an initial series of 3 to 6 treatments, scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Thereafter, patients may need maintenance treatments every 3 to 6 months.
Each person’s response to the treatment, and the condition being treated, can determine how frequently PRP treatments need to be done.
Are there side effects to PRP therapy? What about down time?
Since PRP uses a modified version of your body’s own blood, and nothing more, this treatment comes with nearly no side effects.
However, some bruising or swelling is expected. This usually clears within a few days to a week.
Rare side effects include scarring from the needling process, infections at open wound sites, or other symptoms.
Patients typically return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment sessions.
If you are on blood thinners or anti-inflammatory medication, or have other blood-related health conditions, it’s possible this treatment may not be suitable for you. We encourage you to get in touch, however, since we may be able to help you by using other methods.
