Hip dip butt filler before and after - Surrey treatment near Vancouver

Our Surrey clinic’s doctor is qualified to provide Vancouver butt filler using Sculptra® for buttocks. In fact, we’ve been performing this procedure since 2005. We have the experience and know-how to do it well, with natural-looking results.

This popular, non-surgical butt lift procedure is ideal for those seeking a more rounded look to the buttocks, with flexible shaping options. It can also correct a ‘hip dip.’

Sculptra® Aesthetic is made of injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). PLLA is a biocompatible material, which the body absorbs over time.

The substance itself is commonly used in suture stitching material (including in our face thread lift procedure). As an injectable, the branded form of PLLA (i.e. Sculptra®), was FDA approved in 2013 for cosmetic use in the face. The generic substance was approved by Health Canada for cosmetic use in 2006. You can learn more about Sculptra® here.

Sculptra® butt lifts can last for 18 – 24 months.

To find out if a Sculptra® hip or butt injection is right for you, we encourage you to book a consultation at our clinic. We’ll be able to learn more about your case, and can give you an estimated price based on what you’re looking to achieve.

What is there to love about a Sculptra® butt lift and hip dip filler?

The Sculptra® butt lift is ideal for those who want to enhance their lower body shape by adding volume to it, safely. It is far safer than a Brazilian butt lift (using fat transfers). It is even less risky than surgical options involving silicone inserts into the buttocks.

Since there is no fat transfer required for this buttocks enhancement procedure, more patients can qualify, especially those who don’t contain much fat elsewhere on their body.

There is virtually no downtime involved with butt filler; patients can resume their life as usual after treatments.

The procedure itself is very quick; it can be done in about 30 – 45 minutes (but multiple sessions are needed).

Pain is greatly minimized during the procedure. This is because the Sculptra® injections are mixed with lidocaine, providing local anesthetic during delivery.

The volume enhancements last between 18 – 24 months. This means that if you don’t like the results, you don’t have to live with them, unlike surgical options.

How does Sculptra® butt filler work?

Using Sculptra® for the buttocks is similar to using it for the face. The key is how the solution is injected, and where. This is why practitioner experience is very important. This dermal filler is not like others on the market. Doctors must be trained to use it.

The PLLA in Sculptra® is designed to trigger your body’s natural healing response in the skin, which is to produce more collagen. Since the substance is long-lasting (but still biocompatible), your skin forms new skin cells around its microparticles. The issue of that added collagen is a plumping of the buttocks and hips.

Since the lack of collagen is what causes sagging skin to begin with, Sculptra® butt filler aims to replace lost collagen, naturally. However, since it is trying to use your body’s own mechanisms to make this happen, it takes time. It may be 4 to 6 months before you begin to see results from this procedure.

What is a non-surgical butt lift procedure like?

During a treatment, you will be asked to lay face-down on a spa bed, so the doctor can examine your buttocks area. Markers may be drawn on your skin to indicate where volume is either lacking, causing a ‘hip dip’ or a ‘sagging bum’ look. Of course, the treatment target areas will have been determined during a consultation beforehand.

The Sculptra® substance will be reconstituted with lidocaine (anesthetic) and saline before being injected into your buttocks and hip areas.

When it is injected, the solution will add some immediate volume. However, this is mainly from liquid, which will be removed by your body after about a week. The liquid is only meant to deliver the microparticles. The microparticles remain after your body drains the liquid from the treatment area.

A single treatment session takes about 30 – 45 minutes.

After your first series of treatments, your body will slowly begin creating more and more collagen where Sculptra® was injected. Think of it like a loaf of bread rising (except not exactly!). Results will show gradually, and will be most visible in 4 to 6 months.

How many treatments do I need for a buttocks enhancement with Sculptra®?

Vancouver butt filler Sculptra injection in Surrey

Sculptra® butt injections, including for a hip dip, require an initial series of 2 to 3 treatments spaced one month apart. Thereafter, ‘top up’ sessions are needed every 18 months to 2 years, in order to maintain the buttocks enhancement.

Results begin to show 4 to 6 months after the third initial treatment.

A Sculptra® butt lift is not permanent. Results need to be maintained. The effects will go away after about two years. The length of time it lasts depends on each person’s response to the substance. Some say it lasts less than two years, and some say it lasts up to three years.

Is there downtime when using Sculptra® for the buttocks? What about side effects?

There is generally no downtime after a Sculptra® butt lift. You can go back to your normal activities right away. This is because it is only injected into the subcutaneous tissue. A fat transfer, on the other hand, would need to go deeper. Going deeper into the skin can cause complications if a vein were hit in the process. So in that sense, using Sculptra® with a cannula is a much safer option.

The main side effects you may experience with this procedure include temporary bruising or swelling at the injection sites. Icing and massaging the area can help with this, until it heals.

To avoid bruising, it will be important not to take any blood thinners or alcohol before or after your treatment.

In the past, there was a rare complaint about Sculptra® causing small lumps over time. The makers of this formula have since revised it to solve this issue. Plus, if it happens, it can fade as the effects of Sculptra® fades (which happens naturally). Not only that, we now know that you will need to massage your butt lift every day to avoid possible lumps. We will give you instructions on how to do this at your appointment.

The most crucial way to avoid adverse side effects is to work with a skilled injector, at a doctor-led clinic. This way, you can get the best care possible, if it is needed.

The main ingredient in Sculptra®, the poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), has been used in stitches since 1999. It has also been studied over a 25-month period, and used on well over 150,000 patients. It is approved by Health Canada and the FDA in the United States.

Using Sculptra® injections for the buttocks is considered an off-label use of this product. However, it can still be performed safely by trained doctors.

During your consultation, we will go over any possible risks with you. We will also ask about your health history, just to be safe.

What is the price of your Vancouver butt filler service using Sculptra®?

The price of a Vancouver Sculptra® butt lift can vary depending on:

  • The shape of your current buttocks or hip dip
  • The shape and volume you’re looking to achieve
  • The number of vials it will take to get your desired look
  • The amount of time it will take to inject the vials

Ultimately, you will need an in-person consultation to determine a quote for your needs.

However, we can say that, very generally speaking, a 3-treatment non-surgical butt lift can cost between $2700 to $6000 to see satisfactory results. Pricing can increase depending on the exact treatment required.

This cost includes the dermal filler itself, all supplies needed for treatment, as well as doctor or nurse expertise and follow-up.

We have been performing Vancouver Sculptra® butt lifts since 2005. Our doctor is well-trained and experienced at this procedure. He can get you natural-looking results, based on the butt shape you want.

We encourage you to book a consultation today. When we see you in person, we’ll learn more about your goals, and suggest solutions that may work for you. For example, it could be that a slight butt lift with CoolSculpting® would be better for your needs. Whatever it is, we’ll give you options!
