The TNS® line of growth factor skin care products are excellent for everyday skin care, on all skin types. However, they are truly essential, in our opinion, for anyone looking to undergo a major skin resurfacing procedure, such as with our CO2 laser, or the Fraxel® DUAL laser. Consider these aftercare products as your investment protectors.
So, depending on your case, we may recommend the TNS® Ceramide Treatment Cream, which is specifically formulated for use after skin procedures. It contains growth factors, peptides and an important ceramide for skin ‘rebuilding.’ Of course, being a ‘cream,’ it also contains moisturizers and skin soothers.
Ceramides are essential to your skin’s structure and health. They ‘coat’ your skin cells with fat (that’s what they are), and make up at least half of your skin’s substance. So as you can imagine, when undergoing a skin rejuvenation procedure, where skin cells are intentionally destroyed to make room for new ones, building up that ceramide barrier is very important. In fact, it’s just as important as aiming for more collagen and elastin. You just can’t do anti-aging or good skin without ceramides.
Does this sound like something you need, even without cosmetic procedures? You’re probably right to have that instinct. Dry skin sufferers can also use this product on a daily basis.
A few helpful things to know about this product:
TNS® growth factors come in a skincare line by SkinMedica®. The series also includes:
Each of the above products works with a special focus. You can use TNS® Ceramide Treatment Cream along with others in the TNS® line, or on its own.
While acneic skin does need moisture, and certainly needs ceramides, this product may be a bit too heavy if you experience breakouts, or feel oily most of the time. We might recommend other skin builders and protectors for you. For example, you can try the Ultra Sheer Moisturizer or the AHA/BHA Cream, both by SkinMedica®. Not sure which one you need? Contact us and we’ll help you find a skin routine that’s right for you.
When using this facial cream as a daily moisturizer, and not for healing from cosmetic procedures, it may cause more build up than expected. To keep taking advantage of its benefits, exfoliate daily with the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser by SkinMedica®.
Notable skin care ingredients:
This product doesn’t just contain a patented ceramide formula (which, in and of itself is enough to ‘wow’ a skin enthusiast). It also includes skin builders like peptides and growth factors. For moisture, hydration and skin soothing effects, it gives you hyaluronic acid, plant oils and squalene, too. It is packed with goodness for dry or healing skin. Some notable ingredients include:
Human Fibroblast Conditioned Media (TNS®) – a special, patented and stable formula of growth factors, cytokines, antioxidants and matrix proteins. These act as ‘messengers’ or ‘catalysts’ to your own skin’s production of cells.
Hydroxypropyl Bispalmitamide MEA (Ceramide) – used in a patented ceramide technology to restore your skin’s moisture barrier by covering and ‘gluing’ your skin cells together. This creates structure, hold and substance in your dermal layers.
Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 – two synthetic peptides to help with wrinkles and lines. Peptides are what make up the basis of collagen proteins, and are essential to skin regrowth, just like ceramides are.
Sodium hyaluronate – the most common form of hyaluronic acid (HA) found in skin care products. HA is what binds to water, to hydrate your skin. Get more forms of HA, to penetrate your skin more deeply, with the HA5™ Rejuvenating Hydrator by SkinMedica®.
Panthenol – also known as pro-vitamin B5 (yes, the one in shampoos), this is a water and moisture sealant for the skin. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties to help with redness from damaged cells. Panthenol is also found in the Facial Cleanser by SkinMedica®, which is great for day-to-day cleansing.
Squalane – a hydrogenated, saturated, stable oil that helps with moisturization in a non-comedogenic (non clogging) way. It’s also an antioxidant, skin soother and some even say, an antibacterial agent. Not to be confused with squalene (notice the ‘e’?), which is less stable.
Avena sativa (oat) kernel extract – an anti-inflammatory and soothing ingredient. Great for dryness.
Tocopheryl acetate – a stable form of Vitamin E, which fights free radicals as an antioxidant.
Retinyl palmitate – a form of vitamin A, acting as an antioxidant.
Plus, plant oils and extracts like: olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, glycine soja (soybean) oil, allantoin and bisabolol. These act as conditioners, soothers and antioxidant sources.

This is a fantastic product. I had damaged my skin due to over exfoliation and it helped to repair it very well. If a pimple has burst and it is exposed, it helps to heal it over night. It also goes well under the sunscreen and doesn’t look greasy on the face. It’s expensive but considering everything it’s a great product.
