How much you’ll feel during a face reshaping procedure with needle and cannula injections will depend a lot on your pain tolerance.

Almost all of our Vancouver face injection solutions come with anaesthetic to numb the pain during the procedure.

However, keep in mind that the nose and lips can be sensitive areas, in general. So yes, it may hurt more to have reshaping done on these parts of the face. But, it is tolerable! We see many patients weekly for this service. So far, not many have decided to never come back because of the pain factor!

Procedures for Vancouver face augmentation are also not that long. You’ll be in-and-out within an hour or so, at most. The smaller the treatment area, the shorter the session will be, too. E.g. Lip filler may only take 15 to 30 minutes overall.

Most non-surgical, injectable face fillers and muscle relaxers are not permanent. The longest-lasting filler we carry at our clinic is called Bellafill®. It lasts for up to 5 years. More commonly, however, these types of products last between 6 to 24 months, depending on a variety of factors.

Belkyra™ is a fat dissolving injectable solution designated for use under the chin (though, it can be used in other areas). It can permanently remove existing fat cells. However, it can not prevent new fat cells from forming.

Threads used during a thread lift procedure are permanently placed into the skin. However, they are made of a material that dissolves within about 12 months. They boost collagen for up to two years after the procedure.

Most of the potential side-effects associated with non-surgical face shaping have to do with how the procedure is performed. It is rarely to do with the products that are inserted into the skin (except in the case of atypical, or unknown allergies). This is why it is very important to choose a qualified, licensed doctor for cosmetic procedures.

When performing nose reshaping, lip augmentation or any procedure near the eyes, there can be more risk involved than on other parts of the face. This can include drooping, paralysis or infection at the injection sites. But again – this is only if the injector is not careful, and accidentally hits a nerve, for instance. A good injector will know how to avoid these issues as much as possible.

Should you experience any side effects, we will stick by you to find a solution. Many times, however, it will be a ‘waiting game.’ The body often heals on its own, eventually.

Temporary pain, swelling and redness are to be expected for a few days following face reshaping procedures. By comparison, this is much shorter than the healing time associated with plastic surgery.

Most of the time, the answer to this is, “no!” The great thing about non-surgical cosmetic procedures is that they are not permanent. Dermal filler solutions used for face reshaping often dissipate over time. You can even test out a brow, lip or nose shape with dermal fillers before deciding whether you want a permanent surgery for these areas.

Plus, by using the right techniques, dermal fillers can even be ‘mixed and matched,’ to give you the ultimate look you want. By staggering various procedure appointments, we can also extend the period of time that results last.

You will still be able to get laser procedures, fat removal or other work done after non-surgical face reshaping.

However, just to be on the ‘safe side,’ always notify your practitioner about cosmetic procedures you’ve had done, as well as your entire health history.
